Hello, New to the board here and love all the great info I see on here. My question that I have is...What is the best tour boat cruise in OC?. We will be coming down for the week July 11th with 3 kids in age from 3 to 8. Thanks in advance.

Re: Best Tour boat cruise in OC
Well, it's hard to answer which tour is the best because they all do something different. If you just want to get on a fast boat that will take you up & down the coast and give you a good opportunity to see some dolphins then I'd say the "OC Rocket". If you want a slower more laid back tour where your kids can have fun learning hands on about wildlife then you'd be better off with the "assateague adventure". If the kids want action and want to be pirates for the day shooting water canons and looking for treasure the "Duckaneer " would be the ticket. Pretty much depends on what you are looking for. here's a start - http://www.talbotstreetwatersports.com/ -

With kids that age, I receommend the Assateague tour. It's fun, interesting, beautiful, and educational. You get to see ponies and other wildlife over on Assateague Island. If I remember, it's pretty cheap as well.KenComment

Re: Best Tour boat cruise in OC
We went on the Duckaneer last year for my son's 7th birthday. We had a blast!!! But everyone, I MEAN EVERYONE, gets wet. We have also taken an evening cruise along the shore line after eating at the Angler restaurant on Talbot Street. They offer a cruise after your meal. It's just a quick little ride, but viewing the boardwalk from the ocean in the evening is kinda cool.Comment

Re: Best Tour boat cruise in OC
We have been on the pirate ship out of Harpoon Hanna's (the Sea Gypsy, I think) for the past few years, and it is an absolute blast. The crew is fantastic, and the kids have a great time. It is perfect for kids between 3 and 8, and even the adults have a great time (we stayed dry which was nice). Welcome to the forum!Comment

Or the Assateague Adventure, but keep in mind..........BUGS!! Take along the bug spray if you do this one.

Or for something more laid back, try Ayers Creek Adventure for some family kayaking

With kids the age of yours, Crytz95, I'd say the Assateague Adventure is great. Besides seeing the backbay areas of OC that aren't as visible to tourists, it's really informative. Much more activity than just sitting thru a ride along the shore. Yes, as someone suggested, use some bug spray, just in case. When we did it, the bugs didn't bother us. Check out some of those tourist mags for coupons to make it a bit more "pocketbook friendly."
