  • Boardwalk Performers and Vendors

As some of you know, I am a huge OC webcam fan. My favorite is the Ocean Gallery Cam. As the crowds have gotten bigger on the Boardwalk, I've noticed a lot more vendors and "performers" on the Boardwalk this year. Has anyone been down this year that can confirm this? And I know there was a larger debate on here years ago about performers and more restrictions on them. So did the ACLU do something to reverse this ruling? Did I miss it?

    Boardwalk performers

We have been down every month for 4 days since March...We have NOT been to the boardwalk at night, but during the day..seems like mostly young guys strumming a guitar...and that guy spray painting pics. oh yes the puppet guy. and balloon guys..lol...i am sure as summer arrives..we will be seeing more.. like the characters that want tips to get your kids pics taken with them..

If you see the golden guy on the bicycle, he is very funny. He has some sort of device in his mouth that makes his voice squeak. The dinosaur puppet guy was there and he's always fun to sit and watch. Didn't like the spray paint guy. And there is always the guy playing Phantom of the Opera on the boards..........that has gotten OLD. Didn't see the balloon guy.

OK, so no law changes?? I noticed that some girl has a henna tattoo stand right in the middle of the boardwalk right in front of the Ocean Gallery. I didn't think you could sell goods on the boardwalk unless you own a store.

You can't. But who's going to enforce it? The cops don't really enforce stuff like that, dogs on the beach or boardwalk, nudity, etc. They just bust the "big" stuff.

But this Henna Tattoo stand is in the SAME SPOT EVERY DAY. I can't imagine that a cop couldn't go there and tell the lady she can't just set up a stand in the middle of the boardwalk if it's illegal. It's 7:15 AM as I am posting this and I just looked at the cam. She's there right now, all day/every day. I have to think there has been a law change in OC.

I wish I could find the link to where this whole boardwalk vendor nonsense was addressed.

                    http://mdcoastdispatch.com/2012/06/2...ausing-issues/

                    http://mdcoastdispatch.com/2012/05/1...rformer-rules/

So according to the first story, there is a "list of regulations" somewhere, but I don't know where.
